International Conference on Modernist Literature
Shanghai International Studies University
In recent years, scholars from all over the world have excavated numerous gems in the treasure trove of modernist literature, urging a new round of international exchange which might hopefully add new momentum to the development of this field. To play an active role in this, Shanghai International Studies University is going to hold an International Conference on Modernist Literature on November 29th-December 3rd, 2013, for the purpose of bringing the world to China, and China to the world.

Modernist literature in Europe (UK, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, etc.)
Modernist literature in America (US, Canada and Latin America)
Modernist literature in Asia (China, Japan, India, etc.)
Round-table Topics:
Modernist literature studies: past, present and future
Modernist literature studies: dialogue between the East and the West
A total of 130 scholars will be invited to the conference, 50 from abroad and 80 from China, who are required to email confirmation form(see Attachment 1) , abstract (about 250 words) and paper (see Attachment 2 for requirements on format) to modernistsisu@163.com, before June 1st , September 1st , and October 1st 2013 respectively. Proceedings of the conference will be published officially.
The conference fee will be 800RMB for each Chinese scholar and 120 Euro for each overseas scholar who, if necessary, will be provided with interpreting services. The conference fee does not cover accommodations or transportation, which shall be handled by participants themselves. The working languages of the conference will be Chinese and English.

A paper shall include:
(1) A title in Chinese and English;
(2) An abstract in Chinese and English (250 words);
(3) 3 to 5 keywords in Chinese and English;
